I am integrated, whole and completely authentic.
In September of 2013, fresh from my release from the corporate world, I wrote my first blog post – The Power Woman’s Manifesto.
I considered myself a “Power Woman” – a woman who had pushed at the edges of fear and had succeeded – sometimes beyond my wildest dreams. Looking back, those dreams were insignificant compared to the dreams I have for my life today.
As I read this manifesto as the woman I am now, I want to make some changes.
I want to speak less about what I don’t want in my life and more about what I do want, and what I believe every woman on earth is entitled to have.
If you know me, you know that I am passionate about my beliefs, and I am most passionate about the opportunity that we have as women to release the patterns that are holding us back – to become aware of thoughts, emotions, and judgments and allow our true power to shine.
It’s like getting in shape. When you want to tone your body, what do you do? You eat right and exercise. Simple.
When you want to tone your emotional state, what do you do? Ah… yes, you don’t necessarily have a routine for that, do you?
Neither did I. But over the past 3 years, I have invested hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in training that emotional muscle so that there is even more available to me today.
Here is the new…“Power Woman’s Manifesto”
A manifesto is a declaration – often political in nature – that states the beliefs and tenets of a specific group. While gender can be a political issue, this is less about gender politics and more about how, we, as women, need to rethink our entitlements in order to step into our true power.
As women we give away our power too freely and as a result, end up sacrificing our own happiness.
It sometimes comes from the mistaken belief that if we make others happy, we will be happy too. And while giving to others is essential to living a full and happy life, it’s not sufficient in and of itself.
When we own our personal power, we become whole, complete beings. We are fully present to others and to ourselves. We take great care of our body – we feed it food that sustains and enhances us. We do what it takes to keep our body strong and vibrant.
We care for our mind (and heart) when we learn to recognize thoughts and emotions as conditioned responses that have no power to control us. When we bring them to light for what they are, simply, they lose their grip and we can easily let them go.
We learn to put ourselves first. And while this may sound selfish on the surface, it’s only when we truly take care of ourselves that we are able to give freely and abundantly to others.
As a result, we enjoy nurturing relationships, experience more joy, have more authentic and fulfilling careers and are better partners and parents.
We become shining examples for our children to follow by giving them implicit permission to live lives with passion and purpose; with a deep knowing of how to love and be loved – without subjugation and sacrifice.
Affirmations for The Power Woman:
- I take responsibility for ALL of my experience – I know that I am at the center of everything I experience.
- I release people and patterns that no longer serve me.
- I pay attention and honor my body’s signals – when something doesn’t feel right, I change it.
- I spend my time with people who lift me up and help me become the woman I aspire to be.
- I commit to love myself more than any other.
- I release any negative judgments I have about my body, my current situation or my past decisions.
- I serve my higher power and myself first.
- I clear emotional blocks and make room for new thoughts and positive experiences to flow.
- I know that to fulfill my dream means that at times I will dance with fear and make decisions outside of my comfort zone.
- I am consistent in my thoughts, my words, and my actions – I am integrated, whole and completely authentic.
- I choose joy.
If this has ignited a spark in you, let me know, what spoke to you the loudest? What one action will you take now to own your power?
In love,

Release Fear. Think Clear. Get Into Gear.
