“I was fortunate to become the woman
I always wanted to be.”
– Diane von Furstenberg
Back a few months ago Rebecca Liston, a business coach, friend, and colleague, was coaching me on how to be the woman I want to be. She gave me an exercise that was super powerful and that has stuck with me ever since.
I want to share it now with you… because it’s just that good.
She said, “Practice the phrase: ‘I’m the kind of woman who…’ and see what happens.”
So as New Year’s Eve arrived, I knew I wanted to be alone, but I hadn’t really planned for how this day or evening would unwind.
That morning, I called the salon and got my hair done.
I went shopping for new pajamas and underwear and found silky black flowy ones on sale and even found a matching top!
I went to the grocery store and bought all the fixings for Italian wedding soup.
I set a gorgeous table, got dressed in my new black pjs (with new undies of course!) and added a pair of chandelier earrings that I had found over the holidays.
I popped a bottle of Veuve Clicquot…
And as one year turned into the next, I gave myself one of my most memorable evenings ever!
Because…
“I’m the kind of woman who welcomes the New Year, wearing sexy black pajamas with chandelier earrings, making a memorable meal while drinking really good champagne.”
What kind of woman are you?
Play with me? Comment below with the first image that comes to your mind. Tell me, “I’m the kind of woman who…”
Here’s to a memorable year!
